Details: African Folklore Embroidery originated in South Africa. The Ndebele women of Southern Africa who are famous for their beautiful and colorful handcrafted work inspired the designs for simple embroidery kits. This workshop will be held during the meeting. Kits are available for a minimal price. There will be several designs to choose from as well as additional designs available for purchase.
Topic: Gingko Chrismas Tree

Details: Learn some of Ann’s free-motion embroidery techniques while making this 9 x 12 inch quilt, based on her pattern of the same name. This is a full day workshop for quilters with basic machine skills. Learn an enjoyable way to use up a few of the scraps you have lying around! A sewing machine with feed dog lowering capability is needed.
Topic: Black-Eyed Susans (two day workshop)

Details: Stitch a wallhanging with a flowerpot full of black-eyed susans in this two-day workshop. Learn Ann's methods of fusing, appliqué and free motion embroidery. The class project is based on themes from Ann's prize-winning quilts. The first day, we will make a patchwork background with a log cabin style border to create the perfect setting for the pot full of flowers. The second day focuses on the flowers and how to embellish them with thread. The theme of this class can be changed to coneflowers!

There’s a little bit of piecing, edge stitching, scrappy background arranging, tricky butted borders and fusing all combined to create this wonderful quilt. Join the fun of mixing four patches and circles. This workshop is for quilters of all levels.

Details: An introduction to Karen’s “Layered Curves and Peaks” technique. Curves and angles are layered and then topstitched. Customize your mountain scene by adding a river, a path or a lake. The Meadow and Mountain scene measures approximately 20W” x 10L”.
